A priest shortage is not excuse enough. There would not be a shortage of priests if Rome realized the ultimate worth of each son and daughter of the Church. The rights of the baptized come from the Holy Spirit and not the baptizer....and one of those rights is to proclaim the good news outside of the circle of Catholicism. If hierarchy only saves BAD priests...the rest of the world is lost!
